Fin: Unhooked is an educational game for the OceanX exhibition at the ArtScience Museum, Singapore. Players become Fin, an Ocean Protector, and use their own body as the controller to free the reef from nets, hooks and debris.

One full session, played with camera-based body tracking

The brief

Visitors, mostly children, walk up to the installation and play without instructions or staff. The game has to explain itself in seconds, reward short sessions, and leave players with one clear idea about protecting the ocean.

Player flow

  1. 01Allow camera

The player's body becomes the controller.

  2. 02Play as Fin

Embodying Fin lets players empathise with the character, not just watch it.

  3. 03Prevent pollution

The core loop: clear nets, hooks and debris.

  4. 04Restore the ecosystem

The reef visibly comes back to life.
